Welcome
The „Arbeitskreis Bauinformatik“ is a working group of German speaking people who independently lecture and do research in computational civil engineering at universities. The working group’s aim is the collective design and representation of Bauinformatik at universities in consultation with all fields of civil engineering, whereby development and expert knowledge in the building industry is taken into consideration.
The simulation of buildings and construction processes in the computer affects the everyday life of the civil engineer. It contributes significantly to the quality and innovation of construction products. Bauinformatik treats methods, models, processes and systems used in simulation in all fields of civil engineering. They are used to design databases, algorithms, user interfaces and communication in data networks.
Major activities of the working group to carry out its mission are the definition of the objectives, contents and processes of Bauinformatik, the definition of common subject matter to the basics of Bauinformatik at all universities, coordination in the development of special areas of Bauinformatik at certain universities, planning and representation of corporate research projects, promotion of young scientists as well as representing the interests of the specific field to the government, academic institutions and the building industry.
